Your father's impact on the lives of so many people was so positive, so powerful and so enduring that it is a given that he has attained eternity. There is no time I see a slightly "low" white blood cell count with no clinical significance in my African (including African American) patients that I am not reminded that your father was the first teacher of mine from whom I gathered that it is perfectly fine to reassure such persons.
